"Language as a visual frequency. Words written until they become prayer."

Painting Calligraphy Street Art Digital · NFT

A poet who paints with words.

Born in 1985, Arthur Simony studied fashion design in Belgium before turning to participative installations in Paris: the word « life » suspended from a tree, eight hundred keys freeing the padlocks of the Pont des Arts, Francis Ponge’s « The Pebble » transcribed onto the pebbles of Étretat.

In 2011 his character Jeanne, a nod to Jeanne Hébuterne, Modigliani’s model and wife, appeared in the streets of Paris. He has reproduced her ever since, with the precision of a monk copying manuscripts. From 2014 he turned to mantras and ho’oponopono, repeating words such as « sorry, forgive me, thank you, I love you » until the text becomes a vibrating design, its black letters lit by bright, answering colours.

He has exhibited in Paris, Brussels, Geneva and Courchevel. Since 2020 he has extended Jeanne into digital art, with the Cryptojeannes on Ethereum and Solana and the Bitcoin Jeanne on Ordinals in 2024. He is now based in Marseille.
